Why Cover Your RV?
Providing shade to your vehicles is a part of maintenance. Maintenance is not only required for running a vehicle but also important when it is stationary, to save it from the elements. Elements like sunlight, sleet, rains tend to degrade the exterior of your vehicles over time.
You might have a garage to give shade to your car but you might not have one to park your RV in. Having separate garages (or a garage so big that can accommodate both the vehicles) could be parked is not possible for everyone and that is where ‘covers’ come into the picture. You need to cover your RV for the following reasons:
Just like the UV rays in the sunlight damage our skin, they can damage any surface including your RV’s. Prolonged exposure to sunlight, fades the colour of the RV and can cause peeling. By covering your RV with anything won’t save it from the UV rays. Special covers made of the special fabric doesn’t allow the UV rays to pass through thus saving it from peeling and chipping. These covers also prevent from heating up of the interiors of the RV, the temperature inside the RV could surge very if not covered and could damage the interior in the long run.
Accumulation of dust, dirt, sap and even bird droppings is a common thing. A cover helps in preventing the formation of a black streak on the RV which forms as a result of the combination of moisture/dew, sap, bird droppings. A cover could save you from the hassle of cleaning your RV of these black streaks, sap and bird droppings as it is a tedious job to get rid of them.
Moreover, covers help you in maintaining your RV, which keeps its lustre, colour, and texture intact thus preserving its value, which eventually gives you a good salvage value.
It may take some time to cover your RV and take the cover off every time you take it out for camping trip, but it isn’t it worth doing that? Cover your RV every time and get a better salvage value. Subscribe Xtend Outdoor and get more such amazing RV maintenance tips.

Controls Moisture
RV covers have a dual function; while they save the RV from the UV rays, they help in controlling moisture in winters. Condensation under the cover is a major problem in winters and can cause mildew and mold. It is very important to have a cover which is breathable and lets the moisture escape through the tiny pores, thus preventing any such undesirable fungi growth. Covers save your RVs from moisture especially in monsoon and severe winters accompanied by snow.
